Review & Description
So, you're thinking about buying the Lazy Low Cal Lifestyle Cookbook but you're just not sure. Let me see if I can help.
Do you want a recipe for Cheesecake Brownies (only 93 calories each!) Then stop right now and buy this book. I can't be any more clear than that.
Do you want to lose weight? All the recipes in the Lazy Low Cal Lifestyle Cookbook are portion controlled. I finally lost weight when I figured out portion control. I tell you exactly how many calories and servings each recipe makes so you can dish out tonight's meal, then put the rest away for a healthy no-fuss lunch tomorrow. There is no main dish recipe in the cookbook with more than 400 calories, and most of them are well below that. There are vegetarian options; lots of healthy, low calorie side dishes; and sweets as low as 45 calories. The recipes call for healthy, easy-to-find ingredients and you'll find enough variety to keep you happy during your weight loss journey.
Are you lazy? I am, so you know these recipes have simple instructions. I'll never make you scurry around town shopping for spices you'll only use once or searching for a teakwood spoon hand-carved in Indonesia so it doesn't bruise the sauce. In fact, if you want to use an old stick with a tennis ball stuck on the end to stir that's perfectly fine with me. Weird, but fine. Don't blame me if you get splinters, though. Or fuzz.
Are you an inexperienced cook? These recipes can't fail. I've tried and tested all of them and most are family favorites here at Casa Lazy. I firmly believe my motto: "If you can read, you can cook." And if you've gotten this far in the description, I have faith in you. Using this cookbook is like having your loving and patient grandmother teach you how to cook. If, of course, your grandmother is middle-aged, sings show tunes, and teaches you how to cook via Kindle downloads.
Do you dislike cooking? Yeah, me too. Don't get me wrong, I like eating; I just get tired of the day-to-day grind of having to cook. So you can believe me when I say that I've figured out all kinds of lazy ways to turn ingredients into food.
Are you in your first apartment? I had my college-aged daughter in mind when I created many of these recipes. I knew she didn't have a lot of money to buy fancy ingredients or utensils so these recipes call for neither. I knew she didn't have a big kitchen with counter space for single-use machines, but she had a stove, an oven, some pots and pans, a refrigerator and running water. That's all you need. (Oh, you'll need electricity too.)
Are you a cheapskate? This cookbook is cheap — like a nickel per recipe! Scandalously cheap. Ingredients are cheap. Recipes are portion-controlled so you'll have planned leftovers. You'll only need cheap, basic kitchen stuff. Cheap, cheap, cheap.
Have I convinced you? C'mon … give it a spin!
Remember, if you know anyone who wants to lose weight, or is lazy, or an inexperienced cook, or who doesn't like to cook, or moved into their first apartment, or is a cheapskate, you can give them the gift of the Lazy Low Cal Lifestyle Cookbook. And they don't even have to own a Kindle! There are free Kindle reading apps you can download for iPhone, PC, Mac, Blackberry, iPad, and Android.
